New Delhi: Taking a cue from AAP`s success in Delhi by flagging the issue of corruption, BJP leader Sushma Swaraj asked partymen to present a clean image and work honestly without groupism in the three civic bodies under party control.
"AAP has made corruption as an issue and brought it to the centre. That is why, those of us in the Municipal Corporation have a responsibility. In Delhi, there should be competition of honesty. Who is more honest. Is the government more honest or BJP run civic bodies. This should be the fight. Till now there was a competition of corruption in the Congress government," Swaraj said while addressing party workers.
Asserting that a united BJP cannot be defeated in Delhi, Swaraj said that the party and its workers have to realise this challenge and work honestly.
"If you remain clean and work with honesty in running the three civic bodies where BJP is in power, then there is no force in this world which will stop you from winning all the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi," she said.
She asked party workers to have two `mantras`-- working honestly in running the civic bodies and not indulging in groupism while working hard to win the Lok Sabha elections.
She said that she had predicted and told party leader Nitin Gadkari that AAP is making tunnels which are not visible and "through these tunnels they are going to win a lot of seats and whatever figures I gave him about the vote percentage, it came out exactly that.
"I had predicted that those seats which we have been losing for the last 15 years, we will win all those seats in the assembly elections but those seats which have been ours, we will lose them," she said.
She said that the reason behind this was that in these areas, the workers had gone through an exile for the last 15 years but in others, groupism came to the fore.
Talking about the results of the Assembly elections, she said that if her party had got 2,500 more votes, BJP would have been in power today and it came short of four to five seats.
