DU girls march against corruption

ABVP had made corruption especially in Commonwealth Games its major campaign issue in the last elections and had wiped out Congress` student wing NSUI.

New Delhi: With Anna Hazare being the
flavour of the season, a number of girls from various colleges
of Delhi University under ABVP`s banner on Wednesday marched across
their campus to protest what they called rampant corruption in
the government.

Carrying placards and shouting slogans against
corruption, the girls held a rally, in a show of strength by
the BJP`s youth wing ABVP ahead of the Delhi University
students Union elections.

The protest was led by DUSU Secretary and Vice President
Neetu Dabas and Priya Dabas, who said it was important that
girls too make their voice heard on matters of national
importance.

ABVP had made corruption especially in Commonwealth Games
its major campaign issue in the last elections and had wiped
out Congress` student wing NSUI. This year again the group
wants to cash in on the increasing youth anger in next month`s
DUSU elections.
