A team of FBI officers held deliberations with the top brass of Delhi Police and exchanged views on tackling terror and other crimes.

New Delhi: A team of FBI officers on Wednesday
held deliberations with the top brass of Delhi Police and
exchanged views on tackling terror and other crimes.

The 13-member team from the US met the city Police
Commissioner BK Gupta and other top officials, including
Special Commissioners and Joint Commissioners, at the police
headquarters here.

Both the sides exchanged their views and measures
adopted in tackling terror and other crimes like robbery and
murder.

Delhi Police made a presentation before the visiting
team during which the force explained its modernisation
programme as well as the new measures taken to tackle crime in
the metro, a senior police official said.

The FBI team had yesterday visited NSG headquarters
and held similar discussions with its top brass, and is now
headed to Mumbai where they will hold discussions with senior
officials of Mumbai Police and Anti-Terrorism Squad.

"This is part of an exchange programme," the official
said adding 39 police officers drawn from various forces had
undergone training in US earlier.

In March, the FBI in partnership with the Home
Ministry conducted a five-day law enforcement exchange
focusing on crime scene management and evidence collection
techniques in Chandigarh.
