Fire breaks out in building in south Delhi, none injured

A fire broke out on Tuesday evening in a multi-storeyed commercial office complex in south Delhi's Bhikaji Cama Place here.

New Delhi: A fire broke out on Tuesday evening in a multi-storeyed commercial office complex in south Delhi's Bhikaji Cama Place here.

No one was injured in the incident which was reported around 7 PM, according to the fire department.

Fifteen fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire which broke out on the fifth floor of the building.

"The flames were doused by 8:45 PM. There are no reports of any casualty as of now. The cause of the fire cannot be immediately ascertained. It would be clear only after an investigation," a Delhi Fire Service official said.

Being a multi-storeyed building, we had pressed in additional fire tenders and fire fighters, he added.

Police had cordoned off the area and the adjoining buildings were evacuated as a precautionary measure.
