Gang-rape victim took tuitions to pay for her education

New Delhi: The Delhi "braveheart" who died on Saturday came from a humble family originally from Uttar Pradesh and took tuitions to pay for her school and college fees.

Born into a family from Uttar Pradesh, the young woman, family friends said, was hard working and desired to forge ahead in life.

The sources close to the family said they moved to the national capital a quarter century ago. It settled in a middle-class neighbourhood in southwest Delhi where she was born 23 years ago.

The girl's father, seeing her brilliance in academics, took loans to finance her higher studies.

After her education, she went to Dehradun to train as a physiotherapist. She returned to Delhi and started as an intern in a private hospital in north Delhi.

As she was the eldest in the family, her family was convinced that her success in academics would inspire her two younger brothers too.

"Like any family they dreamt of their daughter getting a better job and a better salary," a source said.

The dreams were shattered when she became victim to a gang-rape Dec 16, the beginning of a 13-day agonising struggle for life that ended in her death in Singapore Saturday.

i am an indian women, who demands for immediate action towards the rapists.they should be beaten by the same rod for 40 mins cause the girl had gone through pain for 40 mins, for 40 mins the girl was screaming , it is very important to make them know wht is pain, scream, and tears before making them understand that she was a girl.by haging to death is not a justice.all the 6 rapists should be beatean up, no considration should be given to the rapists saying that he is 18 years old . when 18 years old rapist could rape a girl then he should be punish.Delhi public was scared to put a piece of cloth on the girl when she was threw from the bus.it is a shame that no one could give a hand of help to the girl.it will take time to change the rules of the government but till tht time atleast start the process of punishing them.

We prayed sincerely for your recovery, for your dignified life after recovery but woke up to read the painful news that you have left this world. God seems to have different plan He decided to take you under His care and Love as He decided this world was not suitable for a lovely soul like you and He took you into His world which we call Heaven and where only lovely and beautiful souls go. We all stand united in our prayers for you and to oppose crimes against women who are the mothers, sisters, wives and daughters in our ashamed nation yet they are used for carnal pleasures and then disposed off like waste. Your plight shall make us always look at ourselves in shame, I pray that if you are ever born again please dont take birth in India as this nation and its politicians do not respet women and just use them for pleasure.

Dear Sister, a nation of more than one crore could not protect you. This is free India, world`s largest democracy!!! But whom to blame? Is it the sub-human culprits or the corrupt administration? our heart cries for you. May your soul rest in eternal peace and may your brave heart demise bring some sense in the criminals and corrupt people..
