New Delhi: A Group of Ministers of Delhi
government on Friday agreed to keep at the minimum level the
development charges on unauthorised colonies for their
regularisation.

The GoM constituted by the Cabinet to consider all
aspects of fixing development charges met under the
Chairmanship of Urban Development Minister AK Walia.

"A consensus emerged on fixing the charges at the minimum
level keeping in view the character of unauthorised colonies
and their owners coming from the poor families and weaker
sections of the society," officials said.

The meeting was attended by PWD Minister Raj Kumar
Chauhan, Labour Minister Mangat Ram Singhal, Principal
Secretary (Urban Development) R K Srivastava, Engineer-in-
Chief (MCD) Ravi Dass and senior officers from the departments
concerned.

The ministers favoured very reasonable charges on the
owners of the houses in unauthorised colonies.

They decided to continue the discussion further. The GoM
will meet again on February 3 to discuss all aspects of the
issue.
