New Delhi: A major fire broke out at
the Inland Container Depot in Tughlakabad area of South Delhi
in the wee hours of Saturday, destroying property worth crores of
rupees.
The blaze started at 5:45 am and quickly spread to
around 30 containers storing clothes and tyres at the depot,
which is the largest dry port in South Asia.
Twenty-two fire tenders were rushed to the spot and
the blaze was brought under control after three hours around 9.00
am, fire brigade officials said.
The officials said property worth crores of rupees was
destroyed in the blaze.
