Metro delayed in capital, thousands stranded

Thousands of Metro commuters were stranded on Friday at various stations here during the evening hours as trains on Gurgaon route were delayed by nearly 30 minutes due to a problem in the Over-head Electrification (OHE).

Udyog Bhawan station on the Line 2 (Jehangirpuri-HUDA City Centre) was the worst-hit as OHE failed there at around 7.00 pm and the train did not move from the platform.

Metro officials said the delay was due to problem in the OHE.

The delay caused problems to thousands of people who were returning home after attending office as they were stranded at various stations.
