New Delhi: Monsoon showers returned to the capital after a gap of over a day even as minimum temperature rose by around two degree Celsius.

The city received light showers at around 11 AM.

The minimum temperature was recorded at 28 degree Celsius, normal for this time of the year and up from yesterday`s 26.4 degrees.
Weather in the capital has been pleasant since Friday when annual monsoon hit Delhi and the temperatures have come down giving much-needed relief from the scorching sun.

No rains were reported in the capital between 5:30 PM on Saturday and yesterday and 8:30 AM today.
Monsoon hit the capital on Friday evening, after missing the normal onset date of June 29. Last year, monsoon reached the city on June 26 while the year before, it was delayed till July five.
The earliest onset of monsoon over Delhi during the past 30 years was on June 15, 2008 and while the most delayed onset was on July 26, 1987.

During monsoon, the Weatherman says, if the city gets 645.7 mm of rains, it is considered normal for the capital.
