Panaji: Goa`s Leader of Opposition
Manohar Parrikar on Wednesday said "everyone in the state knows who is the senior politician involved in drug racket" that has led
to the arrest of five policemen.

"Everyone in Goa knows who is the politician involved
in these rackets. However, only a proper investigation will
bring out the name," he said at a press conference here.

The BJP leader was reacting to an interview of Lucky
Farmhouse, girlfriend of alleged Israeli drug dealer Yaniv
Benaim alias Atala, in which she had said, "son of a senior
politician often visited their place".

"If a politician is clean, then he should not fear
investigation. Persons in public life should be open for
investigation," the former chief minister said.

"I have a question mark on the stand of Home Minister
(Ravi Naik). He should recommend a CBI probe into the
allegations otherwise needle of suspicion will start pointing
towards him," he said.

Parrikar said he is not accusing Naik of involvement
in the racket but his silence leaves scope for speculation.

In the interview, Farmhouse, a Swedish model,
had narrated how police were taking bribes from Atala to
provide protection to his narcotics trade.

Last month, she had shot a "confession" of her
boyfriend on a spycam and uploaded it on YouTube. This led to
the arrest of five policemen for alleged links with the drug
peddler who is also behind bars.
