12 more test positive for swine flu in Gujarat

Twelve persons, including two children, were on Sunday tested positive for swine flu in Gujarat, state health officials said.

Ahmedabad: Twelve persons, including two
children, were on Sunday tested positive for swine flu in Gujarat,
state health officials said.

With this, 156 people have so far been tested positive
for the H1N1 virus in the state, of which 17 died of the
disease, they said.

According to the officials, nine swine flu victims,
including a one-and-half year old girl, have been admitted to
the New Civil Hospital in Surat.

A 10-year-old girl infected with A (H1N1) virus has been
admitted to the Civil hospital in Valsad district, officials
said, adding two others were under treatment in Ahmedabad.

Besides, 24 suspected flu cases are undergoing treatment
at various hospitals in different cities, they said.

Yesterday, two persons -- 34-year-old Paresh Patel in
Vadodara and 35-year-old Kailashben Desai at the Surat Civil
Hospital -- succumbed to swine flu.
