Guj bans tests of kids and interviews of parents for admission
Ahmedabad, Apr 2 (PTI) Primary schools in Gujarat will
not be allowed to conduct aptitude tests of children and
interviews of the parents for admissions from the new academic
year beginning in June.
State government today issued a statement informing about
the ban.
An education department official said that "a school
found violating the norms for admission will have to pay Rs
25,000 as penalty first time, and Rs 50,000 thereafter".
At the time of issuing advertisement, the schools must
state what the admission process would be, how many seats are
available for reserved categories, etc.
Any child, whose parents are ready to pay school fees,
should be given the admission, irrespective of the social
status of parents, according to the official statement.
