Vadodara: The Supreme Court appointed
Special Investigating Team (SIT), probing some of the
post-Godhra riot cases, has summoned BJP MLA from Waghodia
Madhu Srivastava for questioning.

Srivastava said on Sunday he has been asked
by the SIT to appear before it in connection with a complaint
by Zakia Jaffery being probed by the agency.

Zakia, who`s husband ex-MP Ehsan Jaffrey was killed
during the 2002 riots in Gulburg Society along with 69 others,
has in the complaint alleged that Gujarat Chief Minister
Narendra Modi and 62 others including his Cabinet colleagues,
police officials and senior bureaucrats had aided and abetted
the post-Godhra riots of 2002.

Srivastava`s name appears in the list of 63 submitted
by Zakia.

"I would be appearing before SIT on March 19," Srivastava
said. Almost all the persons named in Zakia`s list have been
questioned by the SIT.

The SIT has also summoned
Modi to appear before it for questioning on March 21.

The team was asked to inquire into Zakia`s complaint by
the Supreme Court in April last year.
