Ahmedabad: A complaint was filed in the metropolitan court here against Union Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde for allegedly "hurting" religious sentiments with his remarks on `Hindu terror`.
A local animal Rights protection group, Geetaben Rambhiya Smruti Ahimsa Trust, which filed the complaint, has also named senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh in the complaint for accusing RSS of indulging in terror activity.
The court has scheduled the hearing for the verification of the complaint on February 16.
Complainant Bachchubhai Rambhia, in his application, charged Shinde`s remarks were `against Hindus and Hindu Nation` and requested the court to initiate action under section 153 of the Indian Penal Code.
Shinde, while addressing Congress party`s conclave in Jaipur on January 20, had stoked a controversy by accusing BJP and RSS of conducting terror training camps and promoting "Hindu terrorism".
Rambhia said "the statements have disturbed crores of Hindu devotees gathered for the Kumbh fair and downed the morale of the armed forces of the country."
"Shinde has made the remarks to divert the attention of the nation from the real issues of corruption and beheading of our jawans by Pakistan forces," said advocate J M Shah, who is representing Rambhia in the case.
