3,444 accused arrested in fortnight in Haryana

Up to 3,444 accused involved in 3,999 registered cases have been arrested by Haryana Police and looted property of over Rs 1.38 crore recovered from their possession during the first fortnight of this month.

Haryana Police and looted property of over Rs 1.38 crore
recovered from their possession during the first fortnight of
this month.

335 persons have been convicted by different courts of
the state during the same period, a Haryana Police spokesman
claimed today.
The state police has been successful in nabbing 20
local criminal gangs involved in dacoities, robberies,
stealing motor vehicles, burglary and theft, he said.

Besides, police have arrested 22 proclaimed offenders
and 109 bail jumpers.

335 cases have also been solved by arresting 390
persons involved in 1,563 registered cases under crime against
property, he added.

The state police has achieved remarkable progress
in working out 274 cases of murder out of the registered 306
cases and sent 353 accused involved behind bars, he said.

Police has succeeded in solving 233 cases out of 249
registered cases and arrested 203 persons under crimes
against women related to dowry deaths, kidnapping, abduction,
rape and molestation.
395 cases registered under Excise Act and 820 bottles
of illicit liquor and 3,002 bottles of liquor from convicted
115 smugglers has been recovered.

Under the Gambling Act, the state police has also
registered 58 cases, arrested 42 persons and recovered more
than Rs. six lakh from their possession.

Under Satta Act, in the 95 cases registered 15 persons
have been convicting and over Rs one lakh recovered as satta
money from them.

38 cases under Narcotic Drugs Psychotropic Substance
Act have been filed and the force has recovered 2488.286 kg
poppy husk, 4.972 Kg opium, 2.178 kg charas, 0.226 Kg smack
and 3.700 kg ganja, 58 illegal arms and 19 other weapons from
the possession of those arrested.
