Hyderabad: Thirty four fresh cases of swine flu have been reported in Telangana, where 46 people have succumbed to the H1N1 virus this year so far.
"In the current year from January 1 till February 18, 3,571 samples have been tested, out of which 1,162 found to be positive and number of deaths because of other complications and swine flu are 46," a bulletin on swine flu said.
It added that 108 samples were tested yesterday and 34 of them are found to be positive for the virus.
The number of positive cases reported in the last six days (up to 18 February) is showing a decline in intensity, the bulletin added.
However, citizens are advised to take precautions and report to hospital on appearance of the first symptoms of the virus like high-fever, sneezing, cough and body pain, it said.
Sufficient stock of medicines is available at different hospitals and there are also enough testing kits, as per the bulletin.
Homoeopathy doctors have advised that their medicines can be taken as a preventive measure under the guidance of a homoeopath.
