Mandi, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Shimla, Kullu and Kangra recorded 75 to 85 percent polling while elections in 14 panchayats in snowbound Kalpa and Nichar sub divisions of Kinnaur district had been postponed to January 5 due to heavy snowfall in the region, they said.

Women turned up in large numbers and long queues of women were seen at the polling booths in morning hours in lower areas while polling was brisk during the day in mid and higher hills, they said.
