Mass transfers initiated by BJP regime, alleges HP

The Himachal Pradesh government on Thursday flayed the reported remarks by a former BJP minister about its mass transfer of employees.

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh government on Thursday flayed the reported remarks by a former BJP minister about its mass transfer of employees, saying the process was initiated by the previous regime on the basis of "biased political considerations".

State Agriculture minister Sujan Singh Pathania and Housing and Urban Development miniser Sudhir Sharma ridiculed the statement of former Irrigation and Public Health minister Ravinder Singh Ravi that the present government has failed on all fronts and was busy with mass transfers of employees.

"Such statements only reflect his frustration as BJP had been completely routed in his home district of Kangra," the ministers told reporters here.

"Ravi, who was a minister till seven months ago should know that after the change in government certain changes were necessary in the administrative set up," they said.

They alleged that the previous BJP government had indulged in mass transfer of officials on "biased political considerations" throughout the year.

The ministers said that previous BJP government shifted various institutions for getting political mileage without creating infrastructure and other facilities and asserted that the present government would take decisions in the interest of common man.
