Army-Govt co-ordination ensured PoK surgical strike success: RSS

Nagpur: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) ideologue M.G. Vaidya on Wednesday supported Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar`s statement of sharing credit for the surgical strike with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and added that co-ordination between the army and leaders are important to make any work successful.

"The contribution of the success of surgical strike goes to the Indian army, but the leaders who guided them there approval was also required. Had the leaders not give them permission, then the army would not have been able to carry out the work. In the same way, if the leader gives permission and the army is not ready, then also the work will not be carried out. They both worked in co-ordination then only the surgical strike was successful," Vaidya told ANI.

Earlier, Parrikar said that he would only share the credit of the surgical strikes conducted by the Indian Army with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and added that the major share of the success goes to the latter for apt decision making and planning.

"I will only share the credit, major share goes to the Prime Minister. This should settle the nerves of many people," he said.

Parrikar also took a jibe on the cynical criticism surrounding the strikes and said that doubters can also share the credit for the success of the same.
