New Delhi: The continuous spell of heavy rainfall across north Indian states has claimed the lives of 18 people.

Heavy rains have crippled normal life in Himachal Pradesh and other north Indian states.

According to the Met department this current spell of rain would continue till July 18, although it is expected to weaken during the next 48 hours.

Hundreds of roads have been blocked due to landslides in the northern state and people have had to walk miles to reach their destination.

The national capital was also deluged by the monsoon showers, leading to massive water logging and unending traffic jams.
