17 more stone-hurlers arrested

Srinagar: Continuing their crackdown on
stone-pelters, police arrested 17 of them here today taking
the total number of those held in the past two days in the
city to 23.

All the arrested were wanted in different acts of mob
violence, a police spokesman said.

Police had enough video and other evidence against
them, he said.

"Police arrested a notorious stone-pelter in southern
parts of the city. At his instance, eight more were arrested
at Mahjoor Nagar," the spokesman said.

In northern areas of the city, eight stone-hurlers were
arrested, he said.

Six stone-pelters were arrested yesterday.
