Srinagar: Supporting revocation of AFSPA in
Jammu and Kashmir, Independent MLA from Langate Sheikh on Sunday
accused Chief Minister Omar Abdullah of failing to do anything
on this front.
"For the last two months, we have been hearing about
revocation of AFSPA. The Chief Minister says it will be
removed today or tomorrow. Even if he is sincere, time has
proved, he has failed to do anything," Abdul Rashid told
reporters here.
He said Omar "simply" has to remove the Disturbed Area
Act which would make AFSPA infructuous in the state.
The independent MLA, however, said partial revocation of
AFSPA is unacceptable and the Act should be removed from the
entire state.
Rashid said he will lead a protest on December 10 and
observe the World Human Rights Day as "black day".
