PoK refugees demand J&K minister`s resignation

Accusing Jammu and Kashmir Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Raman Bhalla of being partisan, an organisation of PoK refugees demanded his resignation.

Jammu: Accusing Jammu and Kashmir Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Raman Bhalla of being partisan, an organisation of PoK refugees on Saturday demanded his resignation.

"The interlocutors report has vindicated the stand of PoK refugees that they have been discriminated against by successive governments in JK," SOS International chairman Rajiv Chuni said.

Holding Bhalla responsible for it, he said, "The minister should own moral responsibility and resign...If he fails to do so, we will request Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to replace him with some competent person."

"Pok refugees entitlements are nowhere on par with Kashmiri Pandits...The only focus of Bhalla is to appease migrants from Valley by ignoring the genuine demands of other refugees," Chuni said.
He said, "Immediately after taking over as the CM, Omar had promised to constitute an apex committee for solving our problems but even after three years there are no signs of such committee."
