Six cops hurt as escort vehicle skids off the road in J&K

Srinagar: Six policemen were injured, one of
them seriously, when the escort vehicle attached to a senior
Peoples Democratic Party leader skidded off the road on
Srinagar-Baramulla national highway on Friday.
The escort vehicle of senior vice president of PDP
Iftikhar Hussain Ansari skidded off the road and turned turtle
near Narbal, 12 km from here, resulting in injuries to six
policemen and a civilian, official sources said.

They said the vehicle, which was coming to Srinagar from
Baramulla, met with the accident when its driver lost control.

Ansari was travelling in his car ahead of the escort
vehicle, the sources said.
They said the injured were rushed to hospital where the
condition of one of the policeman was stated to be serious.
