Tourism policies should consider eco-balance: Omar

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday said tourism policies should be formulated keeping in mind the need to preserve the natural beauty and ecological balance in the state.

Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday said tourism policies should be formulated keeping in mind the need to preserve the natural beauty and ecological balance in the state.
"Development plans should necessarily subscribe to the
need to preserve the beauty and ecological balance of tourist
places and new circuits being upgraded to showcase areas for
tourism," he said, adding, conservation of eco-balance is "our
national duty".

Chairing the 14th meeting of Patnitop Development
Authority (PDA) here, the Chief Minister said Jammu and
Kashmir is a state of tourism and its economy and development
is related to this sector.
"When we preserve the beauty of our tourist places
only then people from all over the World would like to visit
this place", he said.
