Srinagar: With the Jammu and Kashmir government all set to shift its base to the winter capital Jammu next month, a winter secretariat has been established here for the convenience of the people of the Valley, official sources said on Friday.
The Winter Secretariat will be made functional from November 8, the day when all offices, including the Civil Secretariat - the seat of the government - will reopen in
Jammu, an official spokesman said.
Under the biannual darbar move, the state government shifts its administrative offices to Jammu during winter and to Srinagar in summer.
The Winter Secretariat will operate from the Civil Secretariat building under different ministers on rotational basis, the spokesman said.
