Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum District Congress Committee on Sunday demanded the district administration to install a bust in memory of the BSF jawaan, Krishna Kumar Dubey, who was killed in the Pakistani troops firing in Kashmir recently.
After taking part in the funeral process of Dubey here, Vijay Khan, President of DCC, said Congress has urged the district administration to establish a bust of Dubey, who has sacrificed his life at young age for the country.
The bust should be installed at Trimuti chowk in Kitadih locality, where Dubey had been living, he said.
Khan, accompanied by the INTUC Secretary Rakeshwar Pandey, led the party workers to participate in the funeral procession, in which a massive crowd turned up to pay their homage.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) Secretary, S R A Rizvi Chabban described the killing of Dubey by Pakistani snipers as unfortunate as it had taken place hours before the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Shariff were scheduled to meet in Russia.
