Maoists wanted for killing of Lucas Tete arrested

Two hard-core Maoists were arrested in a joint operation by the district armed police and para-military forces in Jharkhand`s Giridih district.

Giridih: Two hard-core Maoists, including
one wanted for the killing of police officer Lucas Tete, were
arrested in a joint operation by the district armed police and
para-military forces in Jharkhand`s Giridih district on Thursday.

Sahdeo Majhi alias Parvez, a member of the Special
Area Committee and also a member of Special Military Committee
of the Maoists, and Saket alias Sanjiv, zonal commander, were
arrested from Belatand village under Tisri police station,
Police Superintendent, AB Homkar said.

Majhi, a resident of Bhanderi in Hazaribagh district,
was wanted by the Bihar and Jharkhand police in several cases
including Lakhisarai Jail break and Tete?s killing in 2003 and
the Chilkari massacre in 2007.

He was also an accused in the killing of Munger Police
Superintendent, Surendra Babu a few years ago, he said.

Acting on leads provided by the two, a bunker on the
Bihar-Jharkhand border was busted with the help of Bihar
police, Homkar said.

The police recovered a rifle, 276 detonators, 100
gelatin sticks, 90 cartridges of Ak-47, an Insas rifle and
three can-bombs from the spot.
