School student killed; six college students held

Six intermediate students of different colleges of the district were arrested in connection with the murder of 17-year-old Randhir Kumar.

Medininagar (Jharkhand): The body of a
ninth class student with his head crushed was on Tuesday found from
near a nullah at Rajeerwar village in Palamu district, Deputy
Superintendent of Police S K Singh said.

Six intermediate students of different colleges of the
district were arrested in connection with the murder of
17-year-old Randhir Kumar.

According to the FIR lodged by Kumar?s father Binod
Chandravansi, Kumar did not return home after the accused
called his son by phone to reach a certain place on March 2.

The victim`s shirt and slippers were recovered from a
nearby well, the DSP said.

Chandravansi said in the FIR that he received a call
on March 4 from the accused who allegedly demanded Rs five
lakh as ransom in exchange of his son.

The police traced and arrested the six students, who
guided the police to recover the body. A sim card and two
bikes were seized from their possession, he said.
