Warrant against Congress MLA

A local court here on Monday issued warrant against the "absconding" Congress MLA, Sawna Lakra, in connection with a murder case.

Ranchi: A local court here on Monday issued warrant against the "absconding" Congress MLA, Sawna Lakra, in connection with a murder case.

The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ranchi, Sitaram Prasad
issued the warrant, the Superintendent of Police (Rural),
Michael Raj, told a news agency here.

The warrant was issued after the police could not reach
Lakra ever since an FIR was lodged accusing him of murder of a
youth, he added.

The father of the youth, Avinash Tiwari, had on May 3
lodged the FIR charging Lakra with abduction and murder of
Avinash.

The bullet-riddled body of Avinash, who went missing on
April 27, was found at Lodhma, about 30 km from here, in
neighbouring Khunti district on the same day.

Lakra`s bodyguard was also named in the FIR filed lodged
with the Namkum police station, the police officer said.

Lakra represents Khijri assembly constituency in Ranchi
district.
