Bangalore: Ruling BJP in Karnataka on Tuesday
decided to field its Yuva Morcha president Sunil Kumar for the
March 18 by-election to Udupi-Chikmagalur Lok Sabha seat.
Announcing this, BJP national General Secretary and State
Election Committee Secretary HN Anant Kumar said that
Sunil Kumar was a former MLA from Karkala constituency.
Ananth Kumar expressed confidence that the BJP would win
the seat by a thumping majority and retain it.
The by-poll has been necessitated after state Chief
Minister DV Sadananda Gowda vacated the seat following his
election to the assembly recently.
