Former K’taka minister granted anticipatory bail

Karnataka High Court on Thursday granted anticipatory bail to former Housing Minister SN Krishnaiah Setty in one of the corruption cases.

anticipatory bail to former Housing Minister S N Krishnaiah Setty in one of the corruption cases, in which he has been named as accused along with former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa.

the first corruption case filed by advocate Sirajin Basha
against Yeddyurappa, his sons, B Y Raghavendra, MP, B Y
Vijayendra, son-in-law R N Sohan Kumar, Setty and Dhavalagiri
Property Developers Pvt Ltd.

The court directed Setty to furnish a personal bond of Rs
two lakh and two sureties of the like sum and also imposed
certain conditions on him, including not to tamper with the
prosecution witnesses and not to leave the country without
prior permission of the court.

The other accused in the case were granted anticipatory
bail by the same court last month.
A final report has already been submitted by the Lokayukta
police in this case on which the Lokayukta Court ordered a
probe.

The case pertains to illegal denotification of government
lands and amalgamation of public road in Rachenahalli village
in Bangalore South Taluk for pecuniary gain.
