Bangalore: With the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) discovering that computers at Vidhana Soudha are being used to access porn websites, the government has decided to block all such sites in the corridors of power.

IT&BT minister SR Patil announced on Saturday that filters and firewall would be set up to deny Vidhana Soudha computers the access to obscene content. He reminisced former chief minister late Kengal Hanumanthaiah`s philosophy, which compared government`s work to God`s work and said the Soudha employees were expected to embrace this idea, but some of them were misusing the official computers to watch porn.

After monitoring the internet usage of government offices, the CBI had forwarded a dossier to the Criminal Investigation Department. It revealed that porn was being watched on some computers at Vidhana Soudha. It is in this backdrop that the government is installing firewall. Patil said the limited-access policy would cover all government offices across the state.

About Soudha, the minister said he has instructed the authorities concerned to block access to porn websites for the computers there.
