Normaly back in Bangalore: Shettar on Northeastern

CM Jagdish Shettar said normalcy had come back to Bangalore and expressed confidence that all the people from NE would soon be back in the city.

New Delhi: Karnataka Chief Minister Jagdish Shettar on Saturday said normalcy had come back to Bangalore and expressed confidence that all the people from North Eastern states, who had left Bangalore due to rumours, would soon be back in the city.

Shettar, who was here to attend BJP Chief Ministers` conference, said that despite the rumours, not a single untoward incident had occurred in the state.

"Normalcy has come back to Bangalore. We have given security to all North east people. They are very much safe in Bangalore. We have built up confidence in the people from the North East who are staying in Bangalore for the last ten twelve years," Shettar said.
"Some rumours had been spread...But uptil now not one untoward incident has taken place in Bangalore and yesterday five persons have been arrested by the police and we have started investigations and we`ll find out the culprits and punish them," he added.
