Will abide by party high command: Eswarappa

With no end in sight to the leadership issue, state unit chief K S Eshwarappa said he would abide by the decision of the party`s central leadership.

Bangalore: With no end in sight to the
leadership issue in the ruling BJP in Karnataka, state unit
chief K S Eshwarappa Thursday said he would abide by the decision
of the party`s central leadership.

"Whatever the party high command decides,I will abide by
it", Eswarappa, against whom former Chief Minister B S
Yeddyurappa had recently launched a tirade, told reporters at
Shimoga.

Yeddyurappa had alleged that Eswarappa was instrumental in
sending him to jail and was attempting to throw him out of the
party. His angry outburst had come after Eswarappa repeatedly
stated that no position could be given to him till he came out
clean in corruption cases.

The face-off between the two on the leadership issue
has triggered a confusion among party ranks.

In a virtual disapproval of the attack made by party MLA
Suresh Gowda on BJP`s top brass to make an on-the-spot
assessment of the political situation in the state while
deciding on the leadership issue of Yeddyurappa, Chief Minister
Sadananda Gowda told reporters that he would talk to the MLA.

Suresh Gowda, a staunch Yeddyurappa loyalist, had
yesterday objected to BJP top leaders taking decision sitting
in the national capital and wanted them to visit the state to
know about the popularity of his leader.

Apparently expressing displeasure over his remarks, Law and
Parliamentary Affairs Minister S Suresh Kumar said: "My advice
to party leaders is that it is better to brood over the
sentiments shared by other leaders on the party issues before
making any statement."
