AB Bardhan condemns Mumbai serial blasts

CPI general secretary AB Bardhan condemned the serial blasts in Mumbai in which 18 people were killed.

Malappuram: CPI General Secretary A
B Bardhan on Thursday condemned the serial blasts in Mumbai in which
18 people were killed.

"Obviously the target of the attackers was to kill as
many people to create terror and panic among the people," he
told reporters here, conveying his condolences to the next of
kin of the deceased.

Lashing out at Congress-led United Progressive
Alliance Government, Bardhan alleged that UPA was immersed in
corruption and people were waiting for an opportunity to oust
it.

Pointing out that the relevance of `third front` has
increased, he said "there is already unity of action by left
parties and it should be further strengthened. But it is not
in the immediate agenda."

On the recent cabinet reshuffle at the Centre, Bardhan
alleged corrupt persons have been replaced by corrupt persons.

Speaking to reporters here, he said Lokpal and Food
Security bills should be introduced during the monsoon session
of Parliament and passed before the winter session.

The left parties would resort to nation-wide protests
against corruption and spiralling prices of essential goods
from July 15 to 21, he added.
