Thiruvananthapuram: CPI(M) stalwart and former Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and state unit secretary Pinarayi Vijayan were among the leaders elected to the state secretariat of the party`s Kerala unit Wednesday.
Others elected to the crucial body, which takes day-to-day decisions on state level issues, are politburo member Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, Lok Sabha member P Karunakaran, former ministers P K Gurudasan, Thomas Isaac, A K Balan, P K Sreemathy and Elamaram Kareem.
LDF convener Vaikom Viswan, E P Jayarajan, V V Dakshinamurthy, M V Govindan, Anathalavattaom Anandan and Baby John were also elected.
The meeting of the state committee, which was elected by the party`s state conference held in February, was attended by CPI (M) general secretary Pinarayi Vijayan and S Ramachandran Pillai, a CPI(M) press release said.
