Digvijay asks Chouhan to fulfil promise to help injured girl

Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh on Tuesday asked Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan to fulfil his promise of providing full treatment to a little girl who suffered burn injuries in an incubator in January 2009.

The girl, Arushi, suffered burn injuries in an
incubator at Government Hamidia Hospital`s Kamala Nehru
Paediatrics Department allegedly due to the negligence of
hospital staff and doctors, Singh said in a letter to Chouhan.

He reminded him that when the incident occurred in
2009, Chouhan not only promised to provide full treatment to
Arushi, but also assured action against those responsible for
the tragic incident.

Singh said as the days passed, the BJP Government,
after initiating treatment, forgot Arushi.
He also said the Government has not taken any serious
action against those responsible for the incident.

The former CM highlighted the fact that the parents of
Arushi are still in need of government help and appealed to
Chouhan to fulfil his promised at the earliest.
