Bhopal: In a bizarre incident, a tiger in Panna Tiger Reserve located in Madhya Pradesh was bitten by a dog on September 10.
Strangely, the rabid dog managed to escape unhurt after biting the wild tiger.
The tiger, coded P-212, was later tranquilised by the forest officials and given a medical treatment. The wild cat is now doing fine.
It is being said that the dog suffered from rabies and was later killed by villagers nearby after it bit a person.
Panna Tiger Reserve is situated in the Vindhyan mountain range in the northern part of Madhya Pradesh and is spread over the Panna and Chhatarpur districts.
Panna National Park was created in 1981. It was declared a Project Tiger Reserve by Government of India in 1994. The National Park consists of areas from the former Gangau Wildlife Sanctuary created in 1975.
