Five SIMI activists remanded for two more days

A local court here on Monday extended the police remand of five SIMI activists, including the two wanted in connection with Ahmedabad bomb blasts, by two more days following a plea of the police department.

days following a plea of the police department.

Allowing the police application, Judicial Magistrate
First Class D K Singh granted custody of Mohammed Shafiq,
Mohammed Yunus, Sheikh Sajid, Arshad Khan and Firoz Khan for
two more days.

JMFC Singh granted permission to the police for remand
extension after it stated that they wanted to question the
accused to extract vital information regarding the role of
SIMI on serious cases following some inputs.

Madhya Pradesh Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) had arrested
these five banned outfit activists on October 20 here after
which they were produced in a court which sent them on police
remand till November 2.
