Jabalpur: The Madhya Pradesh High Court
today granted bail to Congress MLA Kalpana Parulekar, arrested
for displaying an alleged morphed picture of state Lokayutka P
P Naolekar in the assembly last year.

The MLA was granted bail by Justice N K Gupta, who
ordered her to furnish a bond of Rs 40,000.

Parulekar had produced an alleged doctored photograph,
showing Naolekar in RSS uniform, for establishing his
"closeness" to BJP and RSS.

Her counsel Shashank Shekhar argued that the prosecution
had till now been unable to prove who morphed the disputed
picture. Besides, he said, his client was an MLA and was not
likely to flee if given bail.

State CID had arrested the MLA on February 3. Her bail
applications had been rejected twice by lower courts in
Bhopal.
