MP Cong workers red faced as disqualified MLAs say sorry

Congress cadres in Madhya Pradesh are "disappointed" over the apology tendered by two party MLAs who were disqualified by the House.

Bhopal: Congress cadres in Madhya Pradesh are "disappointed" over the apology tendered by two party MLAs who were disqualified by the House.

"I strongly feel that the two MLAs should not have apologised as doing so has led to widespread disappointment among Congress workers," state Congress disciplinary committee chairman Hazarilal Raghuvanshi said today.

Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani had terminated membership of Choudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi and Kalpana Parulekar for "unruly behaviour" on floor of the House last week.

The legislators had later apologised over the incident.
However, a special day-long session of the state Assembly will be convened on July 27 to restore their membership.
