Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh government has
plans to bring in force in the State a law on the lines of
MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) used to
fight terrorism in Maharashtra.

A bill in this regard was introduced in the State
Assembly last Thursday by the State Home Minister, Uma Shanker
Gupta.

Once the bill is passed, the state will have a proper law
to deal effectively with terrorism and other such nefarious
activities, Gupta said.

According to the Minister, the bill would have provisions
to deal strictly not only with terrorists but also those who
harbour them.

Gupta said he was quite hopeful that the bill would get
the Centre`s approval soon.

It will come up for discussion in the Madhya Pradesh
Assembly tomorrow and on Tuesday.
