Neemuch: Setting an example for others, District Collector Vikas Narwal has taken up upon himself the task of cleaning overflowing drains in the town.

Narwal said, as head of the district, it was his moral duty to clean the dirty drains and he was not afraid to use a spade for the purpose.

The Collector began the task three days ago and scores of people have joined him in the cleanliness campaign.

Neemuch is in the grip of dengue fever. Last week, a 24-year-old man, Manish Darak, succumbed to the mosquito-transmitted disease. Before that, the dengue had claimed three more lives.

The Collector`s campaign has got support from the local Red Cross Society whose president Ravindra Mehta said the cleaning drive would continue for 15 days at the end of which the entire town would become clean.
