Mumbai: The Special Prevention of Terrorism
Act (POTA) court on Wednesday granted bail to two accused in the 2003
Mulund bomb blast case.
Seven other accused in the case are already out on bail.
Haroon Lohar and Rashid Ansari had filed the bail
application saying that they had been alleged of committing
less serious crime, and since some others were already on
bail, they too should be set at large.
Special public prosecutor Rohini Salian confirmed that
Lohar and Ansari have got bail, and said prosecution was yet
to decide whether to challenge the order.
The alleged prime accused, Saquib Nachan, was granted
bail by the court on January 31.
The Mulund blast occurred in March 2003, killing 12
persons and injuring 71. Earlier, on December 6, 2002, several
persons were injured in the blast at McDonald`s at Mumbai
Central station. One person died when a bomb attached to a
bicycle exploded in market area in Vile Parle (East) on
January 27, 2003.
The three cases have been clubbed together.
