FIR against sons of MES employee for fighting with Navy cop

An FIR was registered against two sons of a Military Engineering Service (MES) employee for allegedly engaging into a fight with Navy policemen and detering them from discharging their duty in Colaba.

Mumbai: An FIR was registered against two
sons of a Military Engineering Service (MES) employee for
allegedly engaging into a fight with Navy policemen and
detering them from discharging their duty in Colaba.

According to police, accused Manjoj Bist (32) and his
brother Pramod (27) were intercepted to show their identity
cards by the Naval policeman Pradeep Kulhari at the gate of
Navy Nagar, the area that houses the residences of the defence
staff in Colaba.

The duo, whose father Bhagwan Singh is employed with MES,
resides in Navy Nagar but were unable show their identity
cards that allow them to enter the residential premises when
Kulhari asked them for ID proofs last night, said TB Kamble,
Inspector at Cuffe Parade police station.

Though the duo had carried ID cards, an argument erupted
between Kulhari and them, police said.

The accused`s mother also arrived at the gate to pacify
them but in vain, Kamble said.

The accused had a fight with Kulhari and his colleague
Subhash Raju, the officer added.

The accused and their mother sustained injuries during
the fight, Kamble said adding Navy policeman lodged an FIR
against the two brothers. Further probe was on.
