Parli Vaijnath: Veteran freedom
fighter and former Maharashtra legislator Laxman Shankarrao
Deshmukh passed away due to old-age related ailments last
night here in central Maharashtra.
He was 85 and is survived by five sons and one
daughter. Deshmukh was cremated here in the presence of people
from all walks of life.
Deshmukh took part in the freedom struggle and was
later associated with various religious, social and
educational organisations.
He was a member of Maharashtra Legislative Council
(MLC) for two terms and a former Chairperson of Parli Vaijnath
Municipal Council.
