Irked at being sidelined, Harshavardhan Jadhav quits MNS

MNS MLA Harshavardhan Jadhav from Kannad constituency in Aurangabad on Wednesday quit the Raj Thackeray led party.

Mumbai: MNS MLA Harshavardhan Jadhav from Kannad constituency in Aurangabad on Wednesday quit the Raj Thackeray led party and submitted his resignation from the post to Maharashtra Legislative Assembly Speaker Dilip Walse-Patil.

Jadhav alleged that he was "sidelined" in the party and felt "demoralised" and hence decided to step down.

Speaking to reporters after submitting his resignation, Jadhav said he will fight the Assembly elections again as an independent candidate from the same seat.

"I will fight the Assembly seat again but independently. MNS did not give me any post in Kannad constituency," he said.

Jadhav also alleged that the MNS chief spoke "rudely" to him when he told him about quitting the party.

"Also, I have told my supporters that if they want to support me they can or else they can work for MNS," he added.
