Mass resignation by police Patils to be raised

A day after as many as 29 Police Patils from Korchi tehsil of this naxal-infested belt in eastern Maharashtra quit their posts citing harassment by police, district MLA said he will raise the issue in the State Legislature.

Gadchiroli: A day after as many as 29 Police Patils from Korchi tehsil of this naxal-infested belt in eastern Maharashtra quit their posts citing harassment by police, district MLA Namdeo Usendi today said he will raise the issue in the ongoing monsoon session of the State Legislature.
The issue will be raised in the House through a calling attention motion and seek measures by the government to stop the growing trend of resignations by public representatives, he said.
En-mass resignations by sarpanchs and police patils due to alleged police harassment is more serious. The naxal menace is posing a serious threat to the democratic set up, he said adding he will take up the matter with the Home Minister too.
