A city hotel owner has been arrested for allegedly kidnapping a couple from here and sexually exploiting the woman, police said on Friday.

Accused Balkrishna Agarwal of Chidambara group of Hotels
and Resorts was arrested recently on charges of abducting the
couple and taking them to Raipur where he has a resort outlet,
they said.

Agarwal, who allegedly raped, intimidated as well as
assaulted the woman while their earlier stay in Raipur has now
been remanded to police custody till November 5, police said.

The couple had been employed by Agarwal at Raipur, where
he had offered them an accommodation in his house in Dungaji
colony. According to the victim, the accused sexually abused
her when her husband was out the city (Raipur) following which
they returned to Nagpur.
On August 30, the victim lodged a complaint with MIDC
Police Station here following which offences were registered
under relevant sections.

Later in September, Saraswati Nagar Police in Raipur
(CG) also booked Agarwal under various section including
molestation and rape.

Also, Agarwal had tried to implicate her husband in a
false embezzlement case. The couple was kidnapped and was
being taken to Raipur, when police arrested the accused
following which he was produced before a local court yesterday
here in the city, police added.
